The Lowdown is paying tribute to its late star, Graham Greene.
The Oscar-nominated actor made a posthumous appearance on Tuesday's episode of the Ethan Hawke-headlined noir as Arthur, a man who had a close bond with the mysterious Dale Washberg (Tim Blake Nelson). At the end of the episode, a placard that read "In Memory of Graham Greene 1952 - 2025" was depicted onscreen prior to the credits.
Greene died on Sept. 1 of natural causes following a lengthy, unspecified illness, his agent-manager Gerry Jordan confirmed in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. He was 73.

His California-based agent Michael Greene also praised the actor in a separate statement, writing in part, "He was a great man of morals, ethics, and character and will be eternally missed."
A Canadian First Nations actor, Greene made his silver screen debut in the 1983 sports drama Running Brave. While he is perhaps best known for his Oscar-nominated role as Kicking Bird in the 1990 Western Dances With Wolves, Greene's esteemed career saw him star in a variety of films including The Green Mile, Wind River, and Die Hard With a Vengeance, as well as on television shows like Northern Exposure, Marvel's Echo, and Lowdown creator Sterlin Harjo's series Reservation Dogs.
Following his death, the cast and creatives behind The Lowdown honored the late actor on social media. Hawke, who starred opposite Greene in Tuesday night's episode, posted a snapshot of the pair sharing a meal together on Sept. 2.
"I had the pleasure of working with Graham Greene earlier this year," Hawke captioned his Instagram tribute. "His career is legendary: Dances with Wolves, Thunder Heart, Reservation Dogs, to name a few. He has always possessed extraordinary grace, wisdom, wit, & depth."
The 54-year-old actor went on to describe working alongside Greene on the series as a "shockingly fun" experience.
"He improvised brilliantly and infused every moment with spontaneity & humor. I even got to break bread with him- and share some fries," he wrote. "I am shocked to hear of his passing. Blessed travels, friend."

And FX posted a scene from Reservation Dogs that featured Greene talking about sending love to those in the afterlife. "Thanks to Graham Greene, we know it can always just be," the network wrote. "Rest in peace 🖤"
Greene is survived by his wife of 35 years, Hilary Blackmore, as well as his daughter, Lilly Lazard-Greene, and her son, Talo.
