'Swiped' Trailer: Lily James Plays Bumble CEO Who Takes on Tinder in Dating App Biopic

The first trailer for 20th Century Studios' upcoming biopic movie "Swiped" has been revealed. The film will have its debut on Sept. 19 on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in other territories. "Swiped" introduces recent college grad Whitney Wolfe Herd, played by Lily James, as she uses grit and ingenuity to break into the male-dominated tech industry and launch an innovative, globally lauded dating app. The film will follow the rise of the online dating platform Bumble, and Wolfe's journey to becoming the youngest female self-made billionaire. "Swiped" will touch on Wolfe's time at Tinder as a co-founder, and the moments leading up to Bumble going public in 2021. "Swiped" is directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg ("Unplanned," "Minx," "Valley Girl") and is written by Goldberg, Bill Parker, and Kim Caramele. The film is produced by James, Jennifer Gibiot, Andrew Panay, Gala Gordon, and Sarah Shepard. 20th Century Studios and Ethea Entertainment are producing the film, with Hulu set to distribute. The film will be scored by Chanda Dancy. Doug Emmett will serve as the film's cinematographer, with Julia Wong as editor. "Swiped" is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Gala Presentations section, and will have its world premiere on Sept. 9. Duchess Meghan and Prince Harryare inking a renewed deal with Netflix. The royal couple,who partnered with the streaming giant for the 2022 docuseries "Meghan & Harry" as well asthe duchess' lifestyle show"With Love, Meghan," signed a multi-year extension for film and television projects. Archewell Productions,the couple'sjoint media venture, detailed the deal in an Aug. 11 release, which includes a new season of "With Love," as well as a holiday special for the show and a movie adaptation of the romance book "Meet Me at the Lake." "We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the 'As Ever' brand,"Meghan wrotein a statement alongside the announcement. "My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision," she said. Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have been running a private school called BBS, formerly called Bicken Ben, at their Palo Alto home. Journalist Heather Knight reported in theNew York Timestoday,"Mark Zuckerberg has been denounced after a school he and his wife established for children from low-income families in East Palo Alto announced in April that it will be shutting down, leavingstudents and their parents confused and angry. But it turns out that a mile away, behind a high wall of hedges, the billionaire and his wife, Priscilla Chan, were running a private school out of a house at their Palo Alto compound for two of their daughters and a dozen other children. And they were doing it in violation of city code." The couple, which moved to Crescent Park in Palo Alto in 2011, have three daughters, and two reportedly attend the in-home school. Aaron McLear, a spokesperson for Zuckerberg and Chan said the couple's children were part of a home-school pod, and it was not a private school. In addition to Zuckerberg and Chan's two children, there are 12 other children in the school; McLear added the other students did not pay any tuition. TheTimesadded, "The state documents refer to the site as a private school, but Mr. McLear disputed that description, saying the affidavits did not allow for a distinction…Whatever the label, the family is moving the endeavor to a different location out of Crescent Park, he said." Palo Alto bans businesses from operating in private homes "if the employees do not live there and if it generates more traffic than a normal home would. Such a use would require special city approval, which Mr. Zuckerberg did not obtain," per theTimes. Tropical Storm Erin forms, could become Atlantic's first hurricane this season

Tropical Storm Erinformed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean on Monday, forecasters said. The storm could strengthen to become the Atlantic's first hurricane ofthe season. The storm formed just west of the Cabo Verde islands off the western coast of Africa, the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said. Erin was expected to move west. Early models showed that the storm was expected to strengthen into a major hurricane by the time it nears the Caribbean islands toward the end of the week. It doesn't pose an immediate threat to the U.S. Maps show Tropical Storm Erin's projected path As of 11 a.m. EDT, the center of Erin was located about 2,305 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands in the West Indies with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph. There's uncertainty around where Erin goes after this week, but most models show the storm pivoting to the northwest and north, CBS News Miami meteorologist Shane Hinton reported. Erin is the fifth named storm to develop during the Atlantic hurricane season, which started just over two months ago. Last week,Tropical Storm Dexterformed in the western Atlantic but didn't pose a threat to land. In early July, Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall on the Carolina coast, bringingdeadly floodingto the region. The Atlantic hurricane season started in June and runs through November, with its peak months being August, September and October. The Pacific Ocean has already seen sixhurricanesthis year, including Hurricane Henriette, which was located well north of the Hawaiian Islands on Monday and not expected to hit land. The National Weather Service predicted anabove-normal seasonfor the Atlantic basin this year with an expected number of named storms between 13 and 18, five to nine of which could become hurricanes. A tropical cyclone becomes a tropical storm when its maximum sustained wind speeds reach at least 39 mph. Hurricanes are more powerful with sustained winds of at least 74 mph. Hurricanes are rated on a scale ranging from Category 1 to Category 5, which is the most severe rating. A storm is considered to be a major hurricane when it reaches Category 3 strength with sustained winds of at least 111 mph.
