Following thenews of Stone's death, social media users appeared to confuse Stone (whose real name is Sylvester Stewart) with Stallone, who has also used the nickname "Sly" in the past. "I thought Sylvester Stallone had died for a minute, not Sly Stone," one userwrote on X. "I read this quickly and thought it said Sylvester Stallone at first…,"another wrotealongside a tweet about Stone's death. Others jumped in with equally cheeky humor. "Asked my waiter if he heard the news about Sylvester Stallone. He wept," one Stallone fanwrote. This isn't the first time fans thought theRockystar kicked the bucket. In July 2024, a Facebook accountpostedan update claiming that Stallone had died. "The supremely talented actor, the man who acted at his best in many films, has gone," the post read.
