Kamala Harris is clearing the air about her desire to appear on Joe Rogan's popular podcast.

During a sitdown interview on the Diary of a CEO podcast, the former vice president says not only did she want to do an interview on Rogan's podcast — which is very popular among conservative young men — during her 2024 presidential campaign, she even regrets that she didn't end up doing it.

"I wanted to do Joe Rogan's show, and there was a lot of games being played, but I wanted to do Joe Rogan's show," Harris said to host Steven Bartlett. "I think podcasting is a very powerful medium for people to get information, and to your point, for a lot of people that is a main source of information and it's important for us to support that."

The camps for Harris and Rogan have been at odds over who is responsible for Harris not appearing on the show since the election. In the book Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House, authors Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes claim that Rogan had promised Harris a spot on his show, only to give it to the now-president instead. The nearly three-hour episode with Donald Trump garnered over 40 million views on YouTube within a few days of its release.

On his show in February, Rogan pushed back on that claim, alleging that instead, Harris and her team had never agreed to an appearance and that, at one point, they even wanted Rogan — who is based in Austin — to travel to Washington, D.C., to do the interview so that she wouldn't have to travel.

On Bartlett's podcast, Harris again reiterated that she wanted to do the show, but a lot of people in her circle advised her not to do it "because they assumed, as it turned out to be correct, that he was supporting Trump and that it would not be a productive piece for me. But just like when I went on Fox News with Bret Baier, my perspective was they may have their bias, but there are people that listen who are open-minded, and I'm going to go there and give them a chance to get to know me and give me a chance to make my case to them."

She continued, "So, that was my perspective on Joe Rogan, just like it was my perspective on Fox. There was a lot of games being played around the scheduling and it didn't happen. I don't have anything against the people who turn on to Joe Rogan, and would love to be able to talk with him in a direct manner as I wanted to during the campaign."

When asked in hindsight if she wishes she would have put her foot down with those telling her not to do the podcast, Harris said she didn't know if it would have made a difference, presumably meaning in the outcome of the election, but reiterated that "it would have been great to do" the show. However, she pointed out there was also the issue of the "tradeoff in terms of votes and where I spend my time" during her campaign.

In conclusion, though, she admitted to Bartlett, "I regret that we didn't do it. I definitely regret that we didn't do it."
