A small gulf island that is a popular tourist attraction has been left decimated after Hurricane Helene slammed Florida. Cedar Key was blasted by the power of the Category 4 hurricane as it hit the small island which sits less than 10 feet above sea level in Levy County. The storm made landfall on Thursday and brought with it a storm surge that reportedly hit four feet on the small island in the Gulf of Mexico.
