The 24-year-old actress stepped out for a special screening of her upcoming film at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City. For the occasion, she radiated in a naked dress that was custom-made by Elias Matso. The creation featured a plunging halter neckline, a figure-hugging bodysuit, and a completely sheer skirt that was really just long strings of fringe. But this wasn’t just any fringe—the details were made from crystals and steel rods.
She paired the centerpiece with pointed-toe nude heels. As for beauty, Ortega styled her long, silky brunette hair down and sleek with a middle part. She wore smoky makeup, complete with smudged eyeliner, fluttery long eyelashes, peachy pink cheeks, glossy lips, and long manicured nails.

“I’ve just met the designer, and he’s so special and so cool,” Ortega told People of her dress. “His name is Elias. He is incredible. This is a one-of-one dress. It’s made out of steel rods. So it’s handmade, human-made, a lot of effort.”
Ortega continued, adding, “He’s been holding onto this dress for me, and it’s perfect. It’s very fitting with the film, so I’m so grateful.”

In the film, which is an adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s bestselling 2021 novel by the same name, Ortega plays Klara, a robot girl “designed to prevent loneliness,” who “tries to save a heartbroken family of humans,” per IMDb. The movie, which is directed by Taika Waititi, also stars Amy Adams, Aran Murphy, Steve Buscemi, Natasha Lyonne, and Mia Tharia.
