Everyone has their own little routine to get settled in for bed or a nap. Animals are no different. Who hasn’t seen a cat rhythmically knead a blanket, or a dog walk in circles a half dozen times before lying down? Some people even have to fluff a pillow just right before climbing in.

But something you probably haven’t seen? An adorable 3-month-old blind calf finding the perfect spot to rest. This little guy, named Stevie, relies on all his other senses to help him navigate his surroundings, and when he finally gets comfortable—he lets everything go. Literally.

Make sure your sound is on until the very end…

An Instagram Reel shared by @andersonfarmsemily shows this little guy’s careful routine, which involves a few circles and a very slow lowering to the ground as he checks that the area is clear. Two other young calves are in the video, and Stevie picks a spot nice and close to his sister, Scout, according to the caption.

Once he’s in position, Stevie fully commits to relaxation—letting out an audible toot that just adds to his sweetness. The caption summed it up perfectly: “Apparently, that was the final step in getting comfortable.”

Viewers loved this adorable moment. “Thank you for sharing our sweet little cowboy Stevie. I pray he’s feeling better today. He truly is very special!” one user gushed about Stevie. “That’s remarkable and so sweet he found his little family to relax with,” another said.

Others couldn’t help mentioning Stevie’s performance finale, including “Oh! I heard that🔥,” and “what a little toot, literally and figuratively!”

How Blindness Affects an Animal’s Behavior

It’s easy to wonder how this little calf navigates life without his sight. Blind animals can adapt to a life without sight by relying on their other senses and becoming familiar with their environment.

According to Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, maintaining a consistent environment can help blind animals move around more confidently. Familiar routines and surroundings can make everyday activities easier for animals who cannot rely on their eyesight.

Stevie may be a little extra cautious finding the perfect spot for a nap, but once he’s settled in, he’s clearly ready to relax in every sense of the word. And with his sister Scout nearby, this sweet little cowboy has everything he needs to get comfortable—even if he has one last surprise to share!
