Caitlyn Jenner returned to The Kardashians and brought some awkward vibes.
On the Thursday, Oct. 22, episode, Caitlyn met up with daughter Kendall Jenner, who was awaiting the arrival of her horses at a property. “My dad is coming because she knows how important it is to me to have my horses show up today for the first time,” Kendall, 30, said in a confessional. “It’s an emotional and beautiful day.”

The first thing on Caitlyn’s mind was to ask Kendall, whom she shares with ex-wife Kris Jenner, about her relationship status. “So since I never get to know, how’s the love life? I never know what’s going on, I’m always the last to know.”
Kendall appeared thrown off by the question and made it clear that she wouldn’t be making any revelations. “Well, that’s the normal thing for a father to ask,” Caitlyn, 76, said, confirming, “You’re okay?”

“I am so okay it’s unbelievable,” the model replied, before later shutting down the discussion of her love life in a confessional too.
Scott Disick then arrived and the trio ate lunch, where an awkward comment from Caitlyn changed the tone of the day. “That is a very good-looking egg sandwich,” Caitlyn said before taking a bite that led the egg yolk to spill on her hand. “Ugh, I took a bite and it [bleep] in my mouth.”
The exact word was censored in the episode, and both Disick and Kendall reacted with shock. “Dad, oh my God,” Kendall said, her disgust on full display.

“Sorry! Look! It just squirted over everything,” Caitlyn said, and Kendall had to abandon trying to eat her sandwich. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard you say that. I could’ve lived my whole life without hearing you say that.”
Disick, 43, was delighted. “I love it. Actually, I could’ve not lived my whole life without it, because I used to get in so much trouble for saying those jokes.”

“I’m gonna have to take a shower after this is over,” Caitlyn said, making matters worse as Kendall gave up eating her sandwich altogether. “I can’t eat it anymore!”
In a confessional, Kendall said Disick “knows how to” take Caitlyn’s “crazy thoughts or words and make them kinda funny,” offering a rare insight into the pair’s dynamic. “They can have all the fun they want. I just don’t know if I care to be a part of it — or hear it.”
Still, the day overall was “great,” Kendall said. “To have my dad there to share that with, I know that those things are important to her and she can really recognize how special it is.”

Caitlyn last appeared on The Kardashians in season 7, when Kris invited her to join the family for a farewell dinner at their Hidden Hills home, which was on the market. “It’s only right for Caitlyn to be here tonight too because she actually was part of all those amazing memories,” Kris said in a confessional. “It wasn’t just my house — it was our house.”
During the episode, Kendall spoke about her dynamic with Caitlyn, as she said, “My mom’s had a hard time inviting my dad to some of our family gatherings in the past, so it makes me happy that Kylie and I didn’t have to ask for my dad to be invited and that my mom just thought it was a good idea.”
“I always wanna include her. I know she doesn’t have a lot outside of her family, and I know that she gets lonely,” Kendall said. “At the end of the day, it’s really nice to have her around.”
