The woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband and 3-year-old son in their hotel room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains resented the boy and never wanted to become a mother, family members allege.

On Monday, Oct. 12, Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, Penn., was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal homicide for allegedly stabbing her husband, Charles Harrison, 36, and the young boy, who has not been publicly identified, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

The affidavit alleges the pair were found stabbed to death inside the living room of their guest quarters at the resort in Scotrun after Harrison called 911 just after 3 p.m. to report that she wanted to die and that her “husband and son are already gone.”

Charles had been stabbed multiple times in the chest and the boy suffered a single stab wound to the chest, police said. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers found Metallica suffering from wounds to her wrist and neck, police said. She allegedly told 911 dispatchers she was “too weak to stab my neck,” and that she “needed help dying,” PEOPLE previously reported, citing the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, investigators recovered two knives with teal-green handles, which staff members said were not the kind kept at the resort.

Officers also found several bottles of medication and two containers of what investigators believe was blood, the affidavit alleges.

When officers took Metallica into custody at the scene, she “advised officers that she wanted to be with her husband and son,” the affidavit states.

According to a search warrant obtained by LehighValleyLive.com, WNEP and WGAL, investigators interviewed Charles’ relatives on Monday night who described the couple’s relationship as troubled.

Charles’ sister, Melissa Rivera, said Metallica was resentful toward her son and “never wanted to get pregnant,” the court records allege, per LehighValleyLive.com.

Metallica allegedly talked about how her son took “one-on-one time” away from her and Charles, who according to their Facebook pages had been married for three years.

The family also alleged that Metallica was “dominant” and “controlling” and had isolated Charles and their son from his family after they got married, WGAL reported, citing the records.

The couple and their son checked into the resort on Sept. 21 and extended their reservation on Oct. 5, setting their new checkout date for Tuesday, Oct. 13, investigators said in the affidavit.

Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators showed the whole family entering their room shortly before 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11. Hours later, Metallica was seen leaving the room to use a microwave before returning. She and Charles were then seen leaving the room around 10:45 p.m. to visit the arcade. The couple returned about 40 minutes later and were not seen again in the surveillance footage.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed a possible motive.

A GoFundMe campaign has since been created by the victims’ loved ones to help cover funeral costs.

“Chaz was a good guy whose whole life was centered around his wife and child,” the fundraiser reads. “He meant so much to our family, and the pain of losing both him and my nephew so unexpectedly is hard to put into words. We are grieving together and trying to find strength in one another while facing the reality of making final arrangements for them.”

Metallica is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Oct. 21. It is unclear whether she has retained an attorney who can speak on her behalf.
