Ella Langley abruptly canceled her Oct. 9 Dandelion Tour stop at Tulsa’s BOK Center following a security threat

The country singer said local authorities, venue staff and her security team advised canceling the show for safety reasons

Ticket refund information will be shared as soon as possible, Langley’s team said

Ella Langley abruptly canceled a planned performance at Tulsa, Okla.’s BOK Center hours before it was set to begin.

The singer announced the cancellation in a social media post on Friday, Oct. 9. “Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of my fans, the venue staff, and my team, the incredibly difficult decision was made to cancel tonight’s show,” Langley, 27, captioned the post on Instagram. “This decision was made under the advisement of local authorities, the venue, and my security team.”“I know how much time, travel, money, and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can’t tell you how sorry I am,” the “Choosin’ Texas” singer added. “This is not a decision that was made lightly. I was so looking forward to spending tonight with you, but your safety will always mean more to me than anything else. I refuse to put anyone in harm’s way.”

The country music star’s caption accompanied an official announcement from her team, which cited a “serious security threat involving the safety of fans, venue personnel, and the artist.”

“The safety and well-being of everyone involved is our absolute priority, and after careful consideration, we have determined that the show cannot proceed,” the official statement explained. “We understand the disappointment this news brings and apologize to fans who planned to attend. The safety of fans is our foremost concern and will always come first.”

The statement added that information regarding ticket refunds to concertgoers will be available as soon as possible. Reps for Langley declined to comment when reached by PEOPLE.

The concert on Langley’s Dandelion Tour was canceled due to a “false bomb threat,” local outlet News on 6 reported, citing Tulsa Police.

In a statement shared on social media, the Tulsa Police Department said that it investigated the venue and found “no credible threat.”

“As with any large event, the Tulsa Police Department goes to great lengths to ensure that it is safe for eventgoers and those coming to perform,” the statement continued. “Before the event, we swept the area with our K-9, Bomb Team, Patrol, and BOK security for anything dangerous. We did not find anything.”

Tulsa Police said that the agency “advised the performer’s staff that we found no credible threat to the event, but they decided to cancel the performance anyway.”

The incident is currently under investigation, and police are asking anyone with information to contact Tulsa Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
