Michelle Yeoh understands what works for her. On the red carpet, she often turns to shimmering embellishments, off-the-shoulder necklines, and draping silhouettes—to strong results. So, it’s fair to say that when she arrived to the 31st Busan International Film Festival in an outfit that combined all three, it was a knockout.

At the Busan Cinema Center in South Korea on Tuesday evening, Yeoh made a dazzling entrance in an iridescent look from the Dior cruise 2027 collection by Jonathan Anderson.

The dress was like a waterfall of sequins in shades of lavender and mossy green. Up top, the boat neck created an imaginary horizon line where the stream of spangles flowed down the dress for a dynamic effect.

From the top and the bottom, the fabric draped toward the hip, where it was knotted and looped around a pink floral adornment—a motif that popped up all over the off-season Dior collection.

To complement the dress, Yeoh wore a pair of soft-purple satin heels with lacing ribbons running up the front, also from Dior. Finally, she accessorized with all kinds of pearls from Mikimoto, including a multi-strand choker, bracelets, and a set of drop earrings. As for her hair, it was pulled into a tight ponytail that hung down her back.

At the festival’s opening ceremony, Yeoh was honored as the Asian Filmmaker of the Year, an award that recognizes “an Asian film professional or organization for exceptional contributions to the advancement of Asian cinema.” Earlier this year, she also became the first Asian woman to receive the prestigious Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.
