Diane Keaton’s daughter is remembering her late mother exactly one year after the actress died on Oct. 11, 2025.
In an Instagram post shared on Sunday, Oct. 11, Dexter Keaton White penned a tribute alongside a photo of herself and her mom, who died 12 months ago at age 79 after a bacterial pneumonia infection.
“One year without you, mom 🤍,” Dexter, 30, began her caption on the photo, which was taken at her 2021 wedding to husband Jordan White and features Diane staring lovingly into her daughter’s eyes.
“It somehow feels like yesterday and forever ago all at once. I’m still trying to get used to a world where I can’t call you, have you there for a hug, or go on adventures with you,” she continued. “It’s the everyday moments that remind me just how much I wish you were still here.”

She concluded, “I love you and I miss you. Always. 🤍.”
Dexter — one of Diane’s two children, alongside son Duke Keaton, previously honored her mom on what would have been her 80th birthday on Jan. 5.
“I miss you, mom,” she wrote in an Instagram caption alongside a photo of time spent with her mom and a tattoo she got in her memory.

Then, on Mother’s Day 2026, Dexter paid tribute to Diane’s legacy.
“First Mother’s Day without you,” Dexter captioned a series of photos of herself and the late actress.
She added, “I miss you more than words can say. Missing her voice, her hugs, her presence, and everything that made her home. I love you, Mom.”
The images show the pair on the beach when Dexter was a kid and posing together in a garden. Another captures Keaton giving her daughter a hug and a kiss on her wedding day five years ago.
Diane welcomed Dexter and Duke via adoption in 1996 and 2001.
In 2014, Dexter honored Diane on Mother’s Day, writing, “I’m so thankful to have been adopted by such a strong, beautiful, and talented woman. I couldn’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me. I love you!”
