A former police officer has been taken into custody after a missing mother-of-two was discovered dead inside a suitcase.
Barbara Camila Aragon was reported missing by her family on Oct. 10. A day later, in the early hours of the morning, her body was discovered at a boarding house in Rosario, Argentina.
Authorities discovered the 26-year-old in the kitchen of an upstairs apartment, wrapped in a blanket and concealed inside a suitcase.
Aragon's family, who live in Villa Gobernador Galvez, launched a search after losing communication with her. It comes as the family who watched dad fall to death from 200ft Six Flags rollercoaster may get no payout.

A crucial lead came from a taxi driver who had driven her to the boarding house on Saturday morning.
Moments after leaving her there, he received a WhatsApp message from Aragon requesting he come back to pick her up.
He returned and honked a car's horn multiple times, but received no response, prompting him to leave, reports the Daily Star.
While searching the property, authorities located a 37-year-old man in one of the upstairs apartments and took him into custody on suspicion of murder.

The suspect, identified as Eliel S, had previously worked for the Santa Fe police force before being terminated following a drug-trafficking conviction.
In 2021, he received a six-year prison sentence for membership in an organization involved in transporting cocaine from Rosario to Reconquista.
In July 2024, he was also temporarily detained while in possession of clothing with police insignia and a replica firearm. Initial autopsy findings revealed that Aragon died of asphyxiation.

Investigators confiscated a phone for forensic examination as they piece together the timeline leading up to her death. Barbara is survived by two young children.
An online tribute from a friend read: "Barbara, you deserved to live, to watch your children grow up and to enjoy all the life you had ahead of you."
