Anthony Scaramucci weighed in on the tenure of Katie Zacharia as White House press secretary, which turned out to be shorter than his 10-day stint as Donald Trump ‘s communications director in 2017.
“Records are made to be broken,” Scaramucci wrote on X. Then, he added, “But I take no pleasure in other people’s pain.”

Zacharia’s stint as press secretary came to an end on Friday, after less than a week in the job. Her departure came after her debut press briefing on Tuesday, which lasted just 14 minutes and was, in the words of Sean Hannity, “widely panned.” Zacharia also faced questions from Hannity and others over her past labeling of herself as a lawyer even though she did not pass the California bar exam. Scaramucci added in a later post, “Dear Katie Zacharia, speaking as the world’s leading expert on short White House tenures: turn off the news and go enjoy your family. In time you’ll realize that the Universe did you a major favor.” Watch on Deadline

Scaramucci has joked about his own tenure, as the phrase “one Scaramucci” has come to mean a 10 day length of time. He was ousted from his role in 2017 after he was quoted in a New Yorker story criticizing other members of the administration. He has since become a prominent critic of Trump and endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.
Hours after her departure, Zacharia was still supportive of the president.
She wrote on X on Friday evening, President Trump is a kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and hardworking man. I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to. It was an honor to work for him.”

Yeah! Why did Trump hire the guy in the first place? Didn’t he want the “best people”? And why do all of them turn on him?
